Artifact: Technology Vision in Education
Reflection:
The technology vision in education paper was written in ITEC 7410 to explain my view on technology and the use of technology in schools to increase student achievement. With the technology vision in education paper, it addresses my viewpoint on how technology should be used in schools, supported by research best practices. This artifact explains my belief that technology should be used to improve student achievement while supporting the standards students must master. Through this paper, it clearly demonstrates my vision for technology for best teaching practices, which explains and gives examples for other teachers to take away to help improve their teaching and their students' learning.
By completing the technology vision in education paper, I was able to research other people's views on technology, which helped me to develop my own unique vision. I learned that the technology is not important when planning a lesson, but how the technology supports and enhances the standards is what really matters. When I think back on researching and writing this paper, I wish that I had added on to it at the end of every semester to show the evolving vision I have. This was written in my first semester of the program, so it only delves into the surface. Now at the end of my program, I feel that my current vision is more complex and well rounded. With the creation of my technology vision in education paper, it helped with my students' learning; because it helped me to make more in depth projects that, did not focus on the technology be used but on the importance of the end product showing the knowledge the students developed. By looking at activities and projects developed before the program and now afterwards, a clear difference shows my development of a strong technology vision.
